This has to be the most unsettling Vampire film in its day Nosferatu was ground breaking and deeply controversial ..the original copies were all but destroyed and only 1 copy survives.
...The transformation of the actor Klaus Kinski to Count Orlock, is truly gruesome, and when you take into account that Nosferatu is a silent film, the special effects are quite advanced and you are left with the feeling that Kinski really researched his character, and fully immersed himself in the part...
thankfully there is no resemblance to Dracula, or any fictional literary vampire, the story is completely divorced from that.. I have seen Nosferatu 3 times and have enjoyed every minute and I relieved that 1 copy of this film still exists, as it was truly the precursor to Dracula and every vampire film to date..
